VMT also regional in action
VMT can not only do worldwide, but also regional. In this case, the project was called “district heating pipe for Karlsruhe”.
On a length of 100m, two parallel tubes are created. The required accuracy was very high, since the two tubes had to pass under the federal road B10, as well as the river “Alb”, with a minimum of ground coverage. The navigation system SLS Microtunnelling L which was in use, is perfect for a short straight advance. With a diameter of only 1.2 m, the advance duration was only 6 weeks.
